Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin has been an actor in Canada and New Zealand for over a decade. Born in Winnipeg and was raised in Wellington Paquin made her acting debut in the role of Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she was awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at age 11 making her the second-youngest winner of the award in Oscar history. Anna Paquin's full name is Anna Helene Paquin. Born July 24th 1982 at Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was an Canadian birthed New Zealand actress. As as a young girl, she was awarded her the Academy Award for best support actress. Paquin moved to New Zealand from Canada as young girl, and then grew up there. After she responded to an open call for auditions and was selected for the part, she was cast in the role of Flora McGrath, the daughter of a deaf Scottish piano player who moves into New Zealand in mid-19th-century to be married. The actress was just nine, and she had no acting experience. As a teenager, she made the move to America. Paquin appeared as Jane Eyre's title character as an teen in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (2000) and her main character in Fly Away Home (2000). Paquin was the character Frankie Addams as a child in the TV film adaptation Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin played Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's 1997 movie Amistad. The role she played was for teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000) as well as A Walk on the Moon (2000). The actress played groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on Almost Famous (2000).
